Understanding how volunteer hours are recorded helps ensure accurate reporting and smooth program management. Vome tracks hours in two categories: Logged Hours (On-Vome) and Logged Hours (Off-Vome). Together, these make up a volunteer's Total Hours. Below is a clear breakdown of each type.
These are hours recorded directly through Vome’s built-in hour tracking workflows. They include:
Hours logged from past shifts using Vome’s hour logging tools.
Hours approved through hour claims, when volunteers submit time for approval.
These hours are tied to specific shifts or time entries and allow for detailed reporting.
These hours are added manually to a volunteer’s profile and are not attached to a specific date or time.
To add Off-Vome hours:
Open the volunteer’s profile.
Hover over the Logged Hours metric.
Click the Edit (pencil) icon.
Add the number of hours you want to assign.
These hours function as an adjustment or correction rather than a time-based entry.
A volunteer’s Total Hours count is a simple sum of both hour types:
Total Hours = Logged Hours (On-Vome) + Logged Hours (Off-Vome)
This total reflects all hours attributed to the volunteer, whether tracked through shifts, submitted claims, or manual additions.
