Can I edit profile information for Vome Users in my database?

WarningOnce a volunteer claims their profile, an admin cannot modify their profile information.
However, you can request that a volunteer update their profile info and see those updates reflected in your database immediately.

Vome Users can always update non-sensitive profile information from their profile:

  1. Once they're logged in, they go to the left-hand nav bar and click Show Profile

  2. They click on Edit profile
  3. Update profile info and Save

Vome Users can update sensitive information (e.g. Date of birth, age, gender, address) from the profile but you will not see those fields updated in your database unless you've explicitly requested that they share that data via a Vome form.

Scenario 1: The volunteer has already submitted a general form (from the Forms module) or an opporutnity-specific registration form that requested specific sensitive profile information.

In this scenario, a volunteer can directly update their sensitive profile information by editing their profile. You will see their updates immeditaely reflected in the database

Scenario 2: The volunteer has not yet submitted a general form response (from the Forms module) or an opporutnity-specific registration form that requested specific sensitive profile information.

In this scenario, an admin must create a Vome Form an enable specific profile information field requests (e.g. Date of Birth, Age, Gender, Address)
  1. Go to the Forms view from the left-hand nav bar
  2. Click + New form
  3. When customizing the form content in the 2nd step, make sure to enable the Profile information fields you want to request that volunteer share with you upon submission of the form
  4. Once a volunteer submits the form response, you will see the request profile information fields updated in your database
Idea
Vome Forms can be used as a method to have volunteers periodically update their profile information upon every new submission that requests the profile info fields.
