You can fine-tune one chat on its own without changing your organization-wide defaults.

1. Where do I find the per-chat settings?

Open any group, site, category, opportunity, shift, or database-wide chat. For admins, a gear icon appears in the chat header. It opens a Chat settings panel for that one chat.

2. What can I change for a single chat?

• Only admins can send messages for that chat.
• Don't let users delete their own messages.
• Don't let users edit their own messages.

3. Do I need to save?

No. Changes here take effect immediately for that chat.

4. Why do only admins see the gear icon?

The per-chat settings are for admins only. The gear does not appear on one-on-one direct messages.
