Sequence Visibility on Vome
Every sequence has a visibility setting that controls whether assigned users can see and interact with it, or whether it remains internal to your admin team only.
The Two Visibility Options
Visible to admins only
When this is selected, the sequence is completely hidden from the user's homepage. They will not receive a notification when assigned, and they cannot view or interact with any of the steps. This is useful for internal tracking, screening processes, or workflows you manage entirely on the admin side.
Visible to assigned users
When this is selected, the user is notified when they are assigned to the sequence. They can view the sequence on their homepage, see all visible steps, and take action on their current step.
How to Set Sequence Visibility
You can configure visibility in two places when building a sequence:
- In the Details sidebar, under the User Visibility setting when creating or editing a sequence.
- In the Steps sidebar, using the master visibility toggle at the top of the step list.
Both controls are synchronized. Changing one updates the other.
Controlling Visibility at the Step Level
You can also hide individual steps from users within a sequence, regardless of the sequence-level visibility setting.
Each step has its own visibility toggle. When a step is hidden from users:
- The step does not appear on the user's sequence view at all.
- All user-facing settings for that step are locked (navigation, skip, self-completion).
- You can still configure due dates and reminders on that step, which will apply for admin tracking and automated notifications.
This is useful when you need to manage internal steps alongside user-facing ones within the same sequence.
Important Notes
- If you change a sequence from admin-only to visible, users will not be retroactively notified for the assignment itself. They will receive notifications for future step changes.
- If a user's sequence status is Inactive or Finished, the sequence will no longer appear on their homepage regardless of visibility settings.
