Setting Due Dates and Reminders on Sequence Steps
Each step in a sequence can have its own due date and reminder settings. These allow you to set deadlines for users and receive automatic notifications when steps are overdue.
Setting a Due Date on a Step
When configuring a step, you can set a due date by specifying a number of days, weeks, or months after the step is assigned to the user. For example, setting a due date of 7 days means the user has 7 days from when that step was assigned to complete it.
Due dates are step-level, so each step in a sequence can have a different deadline.
Setting a Reminder
You can configure a reminder to be sent automatically a certain number of days before the step's due date. This sends an email notification to the user prompting them to complete the step before the deadline.
What Happens When a Step Becomes Overdue
When a step's due date passes without being completed, the following happens:
- The Sequence Coordinator and any Watchers assigned to the sequence are notified.
- The user's row in the admin sequence grid displays an overdue badge showing how many days past due the step is.
Overdue notifications help your team follow up with users who are falling behind in the process.
Due Dates on Hidden Steps
Due date and reminder settings apply even on steps that are hidden from users. In this case, they are used purely for admin tracking and automated notifications to the coordinator and watchers. The user will not see any deadline information since the step itself is not visible to them.
Master Reminder Toggle
There is a master due date reminder setting at the sequence level. If this is turned off, reminder emails will not be sent for any step in the sequence, even if individual steps have reminders configured. Make sure this master toggle is on if you want reminders to go out.
