Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Volunteer Accounts on Vome

How Do I Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on My Volunteer Account?

Overview

Yes. Vome offers two-factor authentication (2FA) for volunteer users. 2FA adds a second step when you sign in: after your password, you confirm a one-time verification code from an authenticator app on your phone. This helps keep your account safe even if someone learns your password.

Availability: 2FA for volunteer accounts is available when your organization is on the Enterprise or Ultimate plan. If your organization is on a lower plan, the 2FA option will not appear in your settings.

1. Is 2FA available on my account?

It depends on the plan of the organization you are associated with. If that organization is on the Enterprise or Ultimate plan, you will see a Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) option in your account settings once you are signed in. If you do not see the option, your organization is most likely on a plan that does not include it.

2. Which authenticator apps can I use?

You can use any common authenticator app, including:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • OneLogin
  • Any other compatible authenticator app

3. How do I turn on 2FA for my account?

  1. Sign in to Vome with your email and password.
  2. Open your account Settings and find the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) option.
  3. Choose to set up 2FA with an authenticator app.
  4. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code shown on screen. If you cannot scan it, you can type in the key shown beneath the code instead.
  5. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm, then save your settings.

Your account is now protected with 2FA. From this point on, you will be asked for a code from your authenticator app each time you sign in.

4. What does signing in look like after 2FA is on?

  1. Enter your email and password as usual.
  2. When prompted, open your authenticator app and enter the current 6-digit code.
  3. Once the code is confirmed, you are signed in.

You will not reach your account until the code is verified, so keep your phone and authenticator app handy when you log in.

5. Does 2FA work on both web and mobile?

Yes. You can set up 2FA and complete the verification step whether you are using Vome in a web browser or in the mobile app.

6. What if I lose access to my authenticator app?

If you change phones or lose access to your authenticator app, you may be unable to complete the verification step at sign-in. If that happens, contact your organization's administrator or Vome support so they can help you regain access to your account.
