Vome Android app: what it does and how to install it

How does the Vome Android app work?

Overview

The Vome Android app puts your schedule and your notifications on your phone. It uses the same account you already have on the web, so there is nothing to sync, you sign in and your data is there.

The app is free and works on every Vome plan. There is nothing to enable in your account settings.

Why use it

  • Push notifications in real time. This is the main reason to install it. A browser cannot reach someone who is not looking at it, the app can.

  • Your schedule, on the go. People can check what they are booked for without opening a laptop.

  • It closes the gap for on-site work. Coordinators running an event on the floor stay in touch with what is happening in Vome.

Who it is for

Both audiences. Administrators use it to stay on top of activity without sitting at a desk. The people you work with use it to see what they have coming up and to be reminded of it.

How to install it

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone or tablet.

  2. Search for Vome Volunteer, or go straight to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vome.vomevolunteer

  3. Install the app and open it.

  4. Sign in with the same email address and password you use on the Vome website.

  5. When Android asks whether to allow notifications, choose Allow.

Notes
If notifications are not arriving, check two things on the device: that notifications are enabled for Vome under Settings then Apps then Vome, and that battery optimization is not restricting the app in the background. Aggressive battery saving is the usual culprit on Android.
