Zapier integration on Vome: setup, triggers and Zaps

How does the Zapier integration work on Vome?

Overview

Zapier connects Vome to thousands of other applications without anyone writing code. You build an automation, called a Zap, that starts with something happening in Vome and ends with something happening somewhere else.

The Zapier integration is available on the Ultimate plan, because it authenticates with a Vome API key.

Why use it

  • No development work. If your team can use a spreadsheet, they can build a Zap.

  • It reaches the tools you already pay for. Slack, Google Sheets, Mailchimp, Airtable, your CRM, your finance system, and thousands more.

  • It removes the copy and paste step. A new profile in Vome can create a row, a record, a task or a message elsewhere, the moment it appears.

  • You can start small. One trigger, one action, and grow from there.

What it can react to

Zaps start from a Vome trigger. New Profile and New Reservation are the two most commonly used. The full set of available triggers is listed inside the Vome connector in Zapier, so check there for the current list when you build.

A few examples of what organizations build:

  • A new profile in Vome adds a row to a Google Sheet your board reviews each month.

  • A new reservation posts a message into the Slack channel for that team.

  • A new profile creates a contact in your CRM or your mailing list tool.

How to enable the Zapier integration

Step 1: Generate your API key in Vome

  1. From the left-hand navigation, click Integrations & Apps.

  2. Click APIs & webhooks.

  3. Open the API keys tab and click Generate secret key.

  4. Give it a title such as "Zapier", then copy the key straight away.

Notes
The key is shown once. Copy the whole thing, with no spaces before or after. A key that was pasted with a stray space is the most common reason authentication fails in Zapier.

Step 2: Connect Vome in Zapier

  1. Log in to Zapier and start a new Zap.

  2. Choose Vome as the app.

  3. When Zapier asks you to authenticate, paste your Vome API key.

  4. Choose your trigger, for example New Profile.

Step 3: Choose what happens next

  1. Add the action step in whichever app you want Vome to feed.

  2. Map the Vome fields onto that app's fields.

  3. Test the Zap, then turn it on.

Where to check the connection in Vome

Open Integrations & Apps and click the Zapier card. Vome shows whether your account is currently connected, and lets you disconnect it if you need to stop the flow of data.

Troubleshooting

  • Zapier will not authenticate. Re-copy the API key, checking for a missing character or an extra space. If in doubt, generate a fresh key in Vome and use that.

  • The Zap never fires. Confirm the trigger actually happened in Vome, and that the Zap is switched on rather than left in draft.

  • The key stopped working. Check whether the key was revoked in the API keys tab. Revoking a key stops every integration using it.

Summary

  • Zapier connects Vome to thousands of apps with no code, on the Ultimate plan.

  • Authentication is a Vome API key, generated under Integrations & Apps then APIs & webhooks.

  • Zaps start from a Vome trigger such as New Profile or New Reservation.

  • The Zapier card in Vome shows the connection status and lets you disconnect.

  • Most setup problems are a mis-copied API key.
