Microsoft Mailbox Integration Troubleshooting

Our Microsoft email integration allows you to connect your mailbox to Vome to send and manage emails directly from our platform. This feature is designed to work with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) accounts that are managed through Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).

What is supported

Vome uses the Microsoft Graph API to securely access and send emails on your behalf. When connecting your Microsoft email, you will be asked to log in through Microsoft’s OAuth system and grant the following permissions:

  • Mail.Send – to send emails through your account

  • User.Read – to identify your user profile

  • openid, offline_access, profile – for authentication and secure session management

To use this integration, your email must meet all of the following criteria:

  • It must be hosted on Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online)

  • It must be part of an Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) organization

  • You must have permission to authorize third-party apps


What is not supported

This integration will not work if:

  • Your email is hosted on on-premise Microsoft Exchange (not connected to Azure AD)

  • Your organization uses a hybrid setup but your specific account is not in Azure AD

  • You attempt to log in using a personal Microsoft account created with your Exchange email address

In these cases, Microsoft will not recognize your email address during the login process, and you may see an error like:

"This account doesn’t exist" or "We couldn’t find a work or school account with that email."


What should I do if my email isn’t recognized?

If your email is not being recognized during the Microsoft login step:

  1. Confirm with your IT department whether your organization is using Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) and if your email is managed via Azure Active Directory.

  2. If your email is part of an on-premise or legacy Exchange setup, the current integration won’t work out-of-the-box.

  3. Do not try to create a personal Microsoft account using your work email — this will not link to your organization's mailbox and will not solve the issue.


What are my options if I use on-premise Exchange?

We’re exploring options for supporting alternative mail protocols (like IMAP) in future releases.

In the meantime, you may consider using our Gmail integration or explore sending emails through Vome's email server.
