A form is the door people come in through, and what happens after they submit is decided by settings that sit around the form rather than inside it. Those settings are the difference between a journey that runs itself overnight and a pile of applications waiting to be noticed.

This page gathers the articles that settle those decisions. They live in the Setup Guide section of this knowledge base, and cover what to choose and why. The rest of this section covers how to do it.

1. What should I read before I build a form?

• Should people apply through a form or through an opportunity? The two doors into your organization, and why starting with one shared form is easier than merging several later.
• Where can a form automation sit, and which level should I use? The three levels an automation can live at, and what happens to your applications if you never set one up.
• Auto-approve an opportunity or auto-assign on a form: which do I need? Auto-assign on a form ignores what the person selected, which is why it is the wrong tool for session sign-ups.
• What is the difference between digital consent and a waiver? Your form can take a signature, and that is not the same as a waiver. Which belongs on the form and which belongs in the sequence.
