What are pinned opportunities on my dashboard?
Overview
Pinning is how you decide what your dashboard is about. Each administrator pins their own opportunities, so your dashboard and a colleague's can look completely different in the same account.
It costs nothing, and it changes nothing for the people you manage. It is purely how you arrange your own view.
1. What is a pinned opportunity?
An opportunity you have added to your own dashboard as a shortlist.
Pinning is per administrator. Nobody else's dashboard changes when you pin something, and no user sees any difference at all.
2. What do I actually get on the dashboard?
Two things, and they are the reason to bother.
- My opportunities. A card for each pinned opportunity, with one click through to that Opportunity Dashboard. The cards flag what is outstanding, using NEW APPLICATIONS, SHIFT REQUESTS, HOUR CLAIMS and CLOSED where each applies.
- My opportunities & schedule. A section showing the shifts across all of your pinned opportunities together, instead of the whole organization's schedule.
So pinning does two jobs at once: it gives you a queue of things waiting on you, and it narrows the schedule to the work you actually run.
3. Which opportunities should I pin?
The ones you are directly responsible for.
That is the whole discipline, and it is worth holding to. Pinning everything hands you back the unreadable wall you were trying to avoid, so pin what you would want to be asked about and leave the rest to the people running them.
4. Where else does pinning show up?
- The mobile app. Your dashboard, including what you have pinned, is available there.
- The Opportunities page. You can filter it down to just the opportunities pinned to your dashboard.

6. Can I pin anything other than opportunities?
Yes. Forms and sequences can be pinned to your dashboard on the same principle, which is useful when the thing you check every morning is an intake queue rather than an opportunity.
7. My dashboard says nothing is pinned. Is something wrong?
No. "You have not pinned any opportunities to your dashboard" means exactly that, and nothing more.
It is not a sign that you have no opportunities, no applicants or no shifts. It only means you have not chosen which ones this dashboard should be about.
