Auto-approve Opportunity when a volunteer registers through a linked Form

When a Form includes a Shift Calendar, volunteers can reserve a Shift as part of their form submission. Because Shifts belong to an Opportunity, Vome needs to determine the volunteer's Opportunity status before confirming their Shift request.

By default, a volunteer who submits the Form is placed in a pending state for the Opportunity. An admin must manually approve them before their Shift request is processed.

Enabling Auto-approve Opportunity — found in the Opportunity's Recruitment tab — removes this manual step. When a volunteer reserves a Shift through a linked Form, they are automatically approved for the Opportunity at the moment of submission.

Note: Auto-approve Opportunity only applies when the Opportunity is linked to a Form that includes a Shift Calendar. It does not affect volunteers who apply for the Opportunity through other channels.

What happens next depends on the Opportunity's Shift approval setting:

  • If Instant Book is disabled, the volunteer is approved for the Opportunity but their Shift request still requires admin review.
  • If Instant Book is enabled, the volunteer is approved for the Opportunity and their Shift is confirmed immediately — no admin action required.
