What Is the E-Signature / Fillable PDF Step in a Sequence?
The E-Signature / Fillable PDF step allows you to collect a signed or filled document from users as part of a sequence, without requiring any third-party tool. The entire process happens directly within Vome.
How It Works
When creating this step type, you upload a PDF document to the step. You then mark the fields within the document that the user needs to fill out or sign, and designate each field as either required or optional.
When the user reaches this step, they see a button to complete the form. They fill in the fields and sign directly in the Vome interface. Once they submit, the step is automatically marked with a status of Signed.
Common Use Cases
- Waivers and liability forms.
- Volunteer agreements or codes of conduct.
- Consent forms for photography, data use, or participation.
- Any document that requires a user's signature before they can proceed.
Admin View
Once a user completes the e-signature step, you can view the signed document from their step details in the sequence grid. The step status will show as Signed, giving you a clear record of completion.
Difference from File Upload
The File Upload step asks users to upload a document they have prepared elsewhere. The E-Signature / Fillable PDF step provides the document to the user and collects their input or signature within Vome. Use the E-Signature step when you need to provide a standardized document and capture the user's direct response.
