The Interview step marks the point in a sequence where you need to speak with someone. Vome does not run or book the conversation, so this step's job is to tell the user how to book it and to hold the record that it happened.
It is a title, a description, and an optional attachment. The description is where the real work goes: it tells the user how to reach you, and it is where you put the link they use to book the time.
The step then sits in the sequence as a visible requirement until it is marked complete.
Open Sequences in the left-hand navigation and open the sequence you are building.
Click + Add a step.
Choose Interviews.
Pick an entry under ADD A PREVIOUSLY SAVED ENTRY, or click New to create one.
Enter the title and description, add a supplementary attachment if the user needs one, then save.

No. The Interview step does not handle booking, and nothing on it opens a calendar or holds a time slot.
The recommended approach is to book through the tool you already use. Put the booking link from an external scheduling platform, such as Microsoft Bookings, Calendly or a similar service, into the step's description, and write the description so it tells the user to use that link to book their interview. Something as simple as “Click the link below to book a time that works for you” is enough. The user books in that tool, the time lands in your real calendar, and the Interview step stays as the record that it needs to happen.
Technically yes. You can create an interview opportunity in your Schedule and post shifts as the available time slots, then point the step's description at it so users reserve a slot the same way they reserve any other shift.

The user sees the step title, your description with any links you added, and a download button if you attached a supplementary file. There is nothing to upload or submit.
This step runs Pending, then Complete. There is nothing for Vome to validate, so the completion is a human decision. Depending on the step's settings, either you mark it complete after the interview, or the user marks themselves complete with a Mark as complete button.
For an interview, marking it yourself is usually the right choice, since you are the one who knows whether the conversation actually took place.
The Interview step holds the fact that the interview happened, not its content. For notes and outcomes, use the user's profile notes, or add a Fillable form step so the interviewer's answers come back as data you can search and report on.
The Interview step carries instructions and links. It does not book anything.
Recommended: put an external booking link (Microsoft Bookings, Calendly or similar) in the description and tell the user to book with it.
You can post interview shifts in Vome instead, but they do not sync with Google Calendar, Outlook or any external calendar in either direction.
Statuses run Pending, then Complete, marked by you or by the user.
Use a Fillable form step alongside it when you need the interview's answers as data.
