The Video step plays a video inside the sequence and records that the user watched it. It is the one instructional step type where Vome can actually verify the work was done, because the player knows how much of the video was played.
It is a video, a title and a description, plus a set of playback rules that decide how strictly the watch is enforced. The user plays the video on the step without leaving Vome, and the step records the watch on its own.
Open Sequences in the left-hand navigation and open the sequence you are building.
Click + Add a step.
Choose Videos.
Pick an entry under ADD A PREVIOUSLY SAVED ENTRY, or click New to create one.
Enter the title and description, choose the video format, set your playback rules, then save.
Under Select the video format you have two choices:
Upload a video file, such as an mp4. The file is hosted by Vome, and it cannot be larger than 5 GB.
Embed a video link, such as a YouTube link. Paste it into the URL field, then click Test link for compatibility.

Under Playback and completion rules you get three switches:
Prevent skipping ahead. Users cannot drag past the furthest point they have already watched.
Require watching before continuing. The step only completes after the user watches the percentage you set. Turning this on reveals a Minimum watched field, which accepts anything from 1 to 100.
Lock playback speed to 1x. Stops users from speeding the video up.
Used together, these are what turn a video from something a user could click past into something you can rely on. A common setting for compliance material is all three on, with the minimum watched at 100.
Yes. Once a video is attached, a Watch as a test link appears in the popup and plays it right there, so you can confirm you attached the right file and that it plays properly. Click Hide preview to collapse it again.
The user is Pending until they watch. Finishing the video moves them to Watched, and you mark the step Complete.
On a video step, letting it complete automatically is usually the better setting, since there is nothing for you to verify by hand and Vome has already confirmed the video was genuinely watched. The step can skip the Watched status and complete the moment the video finishes.
Yes. Add it under Supplementary attachments, and the user gets a download button on the step alongside the video.
Videos can be uploaded, up to 5 GB, or embedded from a link.
Test an embedded link for compatibility before saving.
Prevent skipping ahead, require a minimum watched percentage, and lock the speed to 1x.
Statuses run Pending, then Watched, then Complete, and Watched can be skipped.
Use Watch as a test to check the video yourself, and Supplementary attachments for a handout.
