Why Zip/Postal Codes Might Be Missing in Volunteer Addresses & How to Fix It

When volunteers fill out a form and share their address, you might notice that some addresses in your Database do not display a Zip Code (U.S.) or Postal Code (Canada). This happens because Vome uses the Google Maps API to standardize address input, and occasionally, the selected address does not include the Zip or Postal Code information in Google's returned data.

To resolve this, we've built a simple feature that lets you synchronize and append missing Zip or Postal Codes directly within your Database.

✅ How to Update Zip/Postal Codes in Your Database

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Database from the left-hand menu.

  2. Click Actions in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Update postal/zip codes from the dropdown menu.

  4. Click the Run button.

Once the process completes, Vome will automatically check for missing Zip/Postal Codes and append them to the end of each relevant address.

ℹ️ Note:

This feature will only affect entries missing Zip or Postal Codes—it will not alter addresses that already have complete information.
