Google mailbox integration on Vome: Gmail and Workspace

How does the Google mailbox integration work on Vome?

Overview

Connecting a Google mailbox lets you send email from Vome as yourself, from your own address, instead of from Vome's shared email server.

It works with Gmail and Google Workspace accounts. Connecting is a per-user action, so each administrator who wants to send from their own address links their own mailbox.

Mailbox integration is available on every plan.

Why connect your mailbox

  • Messages come from a person, not a platform. Recipients see your address, and replies land in your inbox rather than disappearing.

  • Deliverability improves. Mail sent from your own authenticated domain is far less likely to be filtered than mail sent on your behalf by a shared server.

  • Sent mail appears in your Sent folder. You keep a record in Gmail as well as in Vome.

  • It unlocks the features that are not available on the shared server. Custom attachments, personalized templates, individual subject lines, dynamic variables such as a recipient's first name, and a saved email signature.

How to connect your Google mailbox

  1. Go to your Settings page in Vome.

  2. Find Mailbox Integration and click it.

  3. Click Link Mailbox.

  4. Select Google, agree to Vome's Terms of Service, and click Link Mailbox.

  5. Sign in to your Google account when prompted.

  6. When Google asks what Vome may do, allow Vome to send email on your behalf. If you skip this, the connection completes but sending will not work.

  7. You are returned to the settings page. Refresh it and the integration should show as enabled.

Notes
Missing the send permission on the Google consent screen is the single most common reason a linked mailbox does not send. If sending fails right after setup, unlink and link again, and read the consent screen carefully.

How Vome handles your account

  • Vome does not store your Google password. The connection uses OAuth, which means Google issues Vome a token that you can revoke at any time.

  • You can disconnect the mailbox from Vome's settings page, or revoke Vome's access from your Google account's security settings.

  • Details are in our Privacy Policy.

What to expect when sending

  • Every recipient gets their own thread. Sending to three people schedules three separate emails, not one thread with three people on it.

  • There is a 30 second gap between messages in a bulk send. This is deliberate, it keeps your mail out of spam folders.

  • Be careful with CC and BCC on bulk sends. Because each recipient gets their own thread, anyone you CC or BCC is added to every thread and receives one copy per recipient. CC and BCC work best when you are emailing a single person.

  • You can see everything sent or scheduled from Vome on the emails page, reachable from the email icon in the top navigation.

If your organization uses Microsoft instead

The Outlook route works the same way from Vome's side, but has its own Azure requirements and error messages. See Microsoft Mailbox Integration, Information and Troubleshooting.

Summary

  • Links a Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox so Vome sends as you, on every plan.

  • Set it up in Settings then Mailbox Integration then Link Mailbox, and choose Google.

  • You must allow Vome to send email on your behalf on the Google consent screen.

  • Unlocks attachments, templates, individual subject lines, dynamic variables and signatures.

  • Bulk sends go out as separate threads, 30 seconds apart, so avoid CC and BCC on them.
