Overview

An organization has created a profile for you and invited you to claim it. Claiming it means creating your own Vome account and taking ownership of that profile.

Look for this email in your inbox:

• Subject: Invitation to Vome Volunteer
• From: noreply@vomenotifications.com

Click Claim profile in that email to start. The four steps below take a few minutes.

1. Create your account

Clicking Claim profile opens the account creation screen.

Attention: three things trip people up here.

• Fill in every field. None are optional.
• Use the same email address the invitation was sent to. A different address creates an unconnected account and will not claim the profile.
• Enter a phone number. It does not need to be authenticated.

Make sure both passwords match, then click Agree and Continue.

2. Authenticate your email address

You are then prompted to confirm your email. Vome sends you a message with two ways to do it, and either works.

Option A. Enter the 4-digit code from the email, then click Validate.

Option B. Click the Authenticate your email button in the email itself.

3. Accept the invitation

Once your email is authenticated you can sign in. On signing in you will see the organization's invitation waiting for you. Click Accept to join.

That is the profile claimed. You are now connected to the organization.

4. Download the app

Optional, but most people prefer it. The Vome Volunteer app is available for iOS and Android.

5. The authentication email never arrived. What now?

Check your junk and spam folders first. That is where it usually is.

If it is genuinely not there, submit a ticket. You can also email support@vomevolunteer.zohodesk.com. Either way, use the address you want to authenticate, and we will authenticate it for you.

If anything else goes wrong mid-process, go back to the login page and start again. Nothing is broken by trying twice.

6. I already have a Vome account and I don't see the invitation

This is a different situation with its own steps. See I created a Vome account and was then invited to claim my profile. What do I do?

Summary

• Start from the Claim profile button in the invitation email.
• Use the same email address the invitation was sent to, or the profile will not be claimed.
• Authenticate your email with either the 4-digit code or the link.
• Sign in and click Accept on the organization's invitation.
• No authentication email? Check spam, then submit a ticket using that address.
