Admin access setup decisions on Vome: roles, scope and security

Setting up users and access: the decisions to make first

Overview

Two questions decide how safe your account is, and most organizations only think about the first: who gets in, and what they can reach once they are in.

This page gathers the articles that settle those decisions. They live in the Setup Guide section of this knowledge base, and cover what to choose and why. The rest of this section covers how to do it.

1. What should I read before I invite my team?

  • Admin roles and account security What the account owner can do that nobody else can, the four ways to limit what an administrator sees, why choosing Both means AND rather than OR, and why scope has to be set separately for profiles, form submissions, sequences and chat.
  • Profile tags or custom fields? Worth reading alongside it, because access scope can be limited by profile tag, and only tags can do that job.

2. Why are those articles somewhere else?

An article in this knowledge base can only be filed in one section, so the Setup Guide holds them and this page links to them rather than repeating them. You will find them under For administrators, in the Setup Guide, stage 6, Manage.

3. What is in the rest of this section?

The how-to articles: inviting administrators, creating and editing roles, permissions, and transferring the account owner role. Read the articles above first if you are building out a team, then come back here.
