When a user profile is assigned to a sequence, it will have one of four statuses at any given time. This article explains what each status means and how it affects the user's experience.
Active
The user is actively progressing through the sequence. They can see the sequence from their end and are expected to complete steps as required.
Paused
The user has been paused within the sequence. This is typically the result of additional screening being needed before they can continue. The user can still see the sequence from their end while paused, but cannot take any sequence actions. This includes marking a step as complete, uploading a file, submitting a form, or any other step interaction. An administrator must unpause the user before they can continue.
Inactive
The user is no longer progressing through the sequence. This can happen for a variety of reasons, including being deemed ineligible, being assigned accidentally, or other administrative decisions. The user can no longer see the sequence from their end once set to Inactive.
Finished
The user has successfully completed the sequence. The user can no longer see the sequence from their end once marked as Finished.
The list below summarizes whether a user can see the sequence from their end based on their status:
Note: Visibility only applies if the user has access to view sequences from their account. If they do not have this access, the sequence will not appear regardless of status.
