Sequence Automations are actions that trigger automatically once a user is marked as Finished in a sequence. They allow you to connect sequences to other parts of Vome, so users are automatically moved forward in your workflow without requiring manual admin steps.
Automations are configured in the Settings and Automations sidebar when creating or editing a sequence.
Auto-add to database
When a user finishes the sequence, they are automatically added as a full profile in your database. This is recommended only when no additional screening is required, since it immediately grants them database-level access and visibility.
Auto-assign to other sequences
When a user finishes, they are automatically enrolled in one or more other sequences you select. This is useful for chaining onboarding journeys, such as moving someone from a general intake sequence into a role-specific training sequence.
Auto-assign to opportunities
When a user finishes, they are automatically approved on one or more opportunity roles. This means they can immediately reserve shifts, track hours, and join related chats without any manual approval from an admin.
Auto-assign profile tags
When a user finishes, one or more profile tags are automatically added to their profile. Tags can be used for filtering, segmenting, and reporting. You can create profile tags directly from this screen if they do not yet exist.
Auto-assign sites
When a user finishes, they are automatically granted access to one or more sites. This is useful when sequence completion should unlock access to specific locations or departments in your organization.
Automations work best when your sequences represent defined stages in a user's journey. For example, completing an onboarding sequence can automatically enroll the user in a training sequence, assign them to a volunteer opportunity, and tag them as onboarded. This reduces the manual work your admin team needs to do after each user completes a sequence.
You can enable multiple automations on a single sequence. All configured automations will fire at the same time when the user is marked as Finished.
