If you’re clicking a button on Vome—such as sending an email or opening an action window—and nothing happens, your browser may be blocking pop-ups. While pop-up blockers help prevent unwanted content, they can also interfere with legitimate platform features.
This guide explains why pop-ups might be blocked and how to enable them in popular browsers so that Vome can function as expected.
Most browsers block pop-ups by default to prevent spam or malicious windows. However, Vome uses pop-ups for important features like:
Sending emails to volunteers
Accessing event or user action menus
Viewing confirmation messages
To fix this, you’ll need to allow pop-ups specifically for the Vome Volunteer website.
https://www.vomevolunteer.com
Open Chrome and go to https://www.vomevolunteer.com
.
Click the site settings icon on the left side of the address bar.
Click Site settings in the dropdown.
In the new tab, find Pop-ups and redirects.
Set this to Allow.
Refresh the page.
Alternative method:
Go to chrome://settings/content/popups
Under “Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects,” click Add
Open Edge and go to https://www.vomevolunteer.com
.
Click the lock icon 🔒 next to the address bar.
Select Permissions for this site.
Scroll to Pop-ups and redirects and set it to Allow.
Reload the page.
Or:
Open Edge settings → Cookies and site permissions → Pop-ups and redirects
Under “Allow,” click Add
Click the menu icon (☰) in the top-right corner.
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security.
Scroll to the Permissions section.
Find Block pop-up windows and click Exceptions…
Add: https://www.vomevolunteer.com
and click Allow.
Click Save Changes.
Open Safari and navigate to https://www.vomevolunteer.com
.
In the top menu bar, click Safari > Settings for This Website.
Locate the Pop-up Windows option.
From the dropdown, choose Allow.
Close the settings popup and refresh the page.
If you’ve allowed pop-ups and things still aren’t working:
Disable browser extensions that may block pop-ups (like ad blockers).
Clear your browser cache and cookies.
Make sure your browser is up to date.
Try using a different browser to check if the issue is browser-specific.
