There are two main ways to connect volunteers to an opportunity:
Assign profiles directly to an opportunity
Share a link to the opportunity so users can apply via the recruitment workflow
Use this method to assign people who are already involved with your organization (e.g., existing volunteers or team members). This skips the recruitment form and adds them directly to the opportunity.
Go to the Opportunities section.
Click on the desired Opportunity.
Navigate to the People tab.
Click the Assign Profiles button.
Note: Only Vome Users will be notified when they are assigned to an opportunity. Offline profiles will be added to the opportunity but will not receive a notification.
Assigning profiles directly is ideal when:
The person is already engaged with your organization.
You don’t want them to go through the recruitment form process.
If the person is not yet approved for the opportunity, you can share a link to allow them to apply through the standard recruitment process.
Go to the Opportunity Dashboard.
Click the Actions button.
Select Copy Link.
You can now share this link with potential volunteers. When they open the link, they’ll be prompted to apply via the opportunity’s recruitment workflow form.
You can also assign opportunities to multiple profiles directly from your Profile Database.
Go to the Database.
Use the checkboxes to select one or more profiles.
Click Actions > Assign Opportunities.
Select the desired opportunities.
Click Save.
Go to the Database.
Click on a profile name.
Scroll to the Opportunities section.
Click See More > Assign Opportunities.
Select opportunities and click Save.
