How does 'Auto Check-In/Out' on Vome?

How does 'Auto Check-In/Out' on Vome?

1. What is Auto Check-In and Auto Check-Out?

Auto Check-In and Auto Check-Out is a scheduling feature that automatically logs attendance without requiring any action from the user or an administrator.

When enabled:

  • The user is automatically checked in when the shift starts.

  • The user is automatically checked out when the shift ends.

No QR code, tapping, kiosk interaction, or manual hour submission is required.

2. How does it work?

If a user is scheduled for a shift and this feature is enabled:

  • At the exact start time of the shift, they are automatically marked as checked in.

  • At the exact end time of the shift, they are automatically checked out and hours are logged accordingly.

The system uses the scheduled shift time to determine the total logged hours.

Info
Note: Please give the system a few minutes of buffer once the shifts starts or ends to confirm the check in/out. It usually happens within 1-2 minutes of the start or end time.

3. When should we use Auto Check-In/Out?

This feature is ideal for organizations that:

  • Do not require real-time attendance verification

  • Do not need users to manually log hours

  • Have highly structured programs with confirmed participation

  • Have pre-assigned users and want hours logged automatically

4. Do users need to open the app?

No.

When Auto Check-In/Out is enabled:

  • Users do not need to open the mobile app

  • They do not need to scan a QR code

  • They do not need to tap check-in or check-out

  • They do not need to submit hour claims

Everything happens automatically based on the scheduled shift time.

5. How are hours calculated?

Hours are calculated based on the shift’s scheduled start and end time.

For example:

  • Shift runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  • The user is automatically logged for 3 hours

The system does not adjust for early departure or late arrival when using this feature.

6. Does this override other check-in methods?

Yes.

When Auto Check-In/Out is enabled:

  • Manual tap-to-check-in

  • QR scanning

  • Proximity validation

  • Manual hour claims

are not required, because the system handles attendance automatically.

7. How do I enable or update this setting?

Option 1: Update Individually

  1. Go to the Opportunities page

  2. Select the desired opportunity

  3. Click the Schedule tab
