Overview

The People card counts every profile in your database.

This metric was previously labelled Volunteers, and then Profiles. If you are looking for either of those, People is the same card.

1. Does it only count people who are actively volunteering?

No, and this is the point most often misread. It counts every profile you hold, whatever state that profile is in.

That includes:

• People who applied but were never approved.
• Offline profiles you created by hand for people who do not use Vome.
• Profiles brought in through a spreadsheet import.
• People who signed up once and never came back.

So it is a measure of the size of your database, not of how many people are turning up.

2. Then how do I count the people who actually volunteer?

Use Active profiles, all time in Analytics, which counts everyone who has ever completed a shift with hours logged against it.

Reading the two together is the useful part. A large People count beside a small active count usually means you have a long tail of names that never converted, which is a recruitment and onboarding question rather than a data problem.

3. Is it limited to the last 28 days?

No. It is a running total of your database as it stands today, so it only falls if profiles are removed or merged.

Merging duplicate profiles will reduce this number, which is expected and healthy.

4. Why is my number blank?

Because this card is not included on the free plan. The label still shows, without a figure.
