Vome is built for adult users and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. To support this, whenever an organization collects age or date of birth through a form on Vome, the platform prevents a date of birth from being entered for anyone under 13 years old.
This means a child under 13 cannot create their own self-managed account on Vome. Youth can still take part in your Opportunities, but participation is handled by a parent, a guardian, or the organization rather than by the youth directly. The options below explain how.
Vome does not knowingly collect information from minors under the age of 13. When age or date of birth is collected through a form, the platform restricts entries so that a date of birth younger than 13 cannot be submitted. This helps protect young participants and keeps your organization aligned with data privacy standards.
There are three main ways to include youth in your Opportunities:
Each option is explained below.
A parent or guardian can create their own account and register on behalf of their child. In this case, the parent or guardian:
The adult remains the responsible account holder while the child takes part in the activity.
If the organization allows group reservations, a parent or guardian can create a group reservation and add the child as a guest.
When adding guests, the parent or guardian provides high-level information such as the first name and last name of each person attending with them. This lets the whole group be accounted for under a single reservation, without each youth needing their own account.
An organization can manage youth participation from its own account. From the admin side, the organization can:
This lets the organization keep accurate records while managing the youth's information offline, according to its own policies.
If a young person would like to volunteer, we recommend one of the following:
Either approach lets the youth take part while keeping the platform compliant and your records accurate.
