I Reserved a Shift and Checked In but Forgot to Check Out

Introduction

If you reserved a shift on Vome and successfully checked in but forgot to check out using the Attendance QR Code or the on-site Attendance Kiosk, your hours will not be automatically finalized.

This article explains what happens in this situation and how to submit an hour claim.

Why Your Hours Were Not Fully Logged

On Vome, hours are automatically calculated when you:

  • Check in at the start of your shift, and

  • Check out at the end of your shift

If you checked in but did not check out, the system will record your check-in timestamp, but it cannot determine your end time. As a result, your total worked hours will not be completed automatically.

After the shift ends, you will still see the option to claim your hours.

What You Will See in Your Shift Details

Once the shift is over:

  • Your shift will display your Checked-in: [Time] timestamp

  • Your hours will not show as logged

  • The Claim Hours button will still be available

This allows you to manually submit your worked hours for review.

How to Claim Your Hours

Step 1: Go to Your Schedule

  • Log in to your Vome account

  • Navigate to your Schedule view

  • Find and select the completed shift

Step 2: Submit an Hour Claim

  • Click on the shift

  • Select the Claim Hours button

  • Enter your correct end time or total hours worked

  • Submit your request

Your claim will be sent to the Shift Coordinator for review.

What Happens After You Submit a Claim

Once your claim is submitted:

  • Your attendee status will show Hour Claim Pending

  • The Shift Coordinator will review your submission

  • If approved, your status will update to Hours Logged

This confirms that your hours have been officially recorded.

How to Avoid This in the Future

To ensure your hours are fully recorded:

  • Always check in at the start of your shift

  • Always check out at the end of your shift using the Attendance QR Code or Attendance Kiosk

  • Confirm that both timestamps are successfully registered

Completing both steps ensures your hours are automatically calculated and helps prevent delays in approval.
