Tap-to-Check-In/Out (No QR Code Required)

1. What does “Users can tap to check-in/out from the app without scanning the QR code” mean?

This setting allows users to check in and check out directly from the mobile app without scanning a QR code.

If enabled, users can simply:

  • Open the mobile app

  • Tap Check In
    or

  • Tap Check Out

The system will instantly record their attendance.

No QR code scan is required.

2. How does this change the check-in process?

When this setting is enabled:

  • QR codes are no longer required for mobile check-in or check-out.

  • Users can complete the action with a single tap.

When this setting is disabled:

  • Users must scan the assigned QR code before they can check in or check out via the app.

3. When should we enable this setting?

This setting is ideal when:

  • You want a faster, frictionless check-in experience

  • You trust your volunteer base

  • You are using additional validation methods (such as Proximity-Based Validation)

  • QR signage is not practical at your location

It simplifies the process and reduces congestion during arrival.

4. When might we want to keep QR scanning required?

You may prefer to require QR scanning if:

  • You want an extra layer of verification

  • You are managing large public events

  • You want users to physically check in at a specific station

  • You are not using location-based validation

QR scanning can act as an added attendance control mechanism.

5. Does this setting apply to both check-in and check-out?

Yes.

If enabled, users can tap to:

  • Check in

  • Check out

Both actions will occur instantly without QR scanning.
